The Diet of Lent

Staff Reports's picture

This Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the 40-day period before Easter, when many Christians abstain from animal foods in remembrance of Jesus’ 40 days of fasting in the desert before launching his ministry.

New Year's resolution

Staff Reports's picture

It’s time for New Year’s resolutions, particularly those about our health. Although gun violence remains the leading cause of death among young people, our most dangerous weapon is still our fork. 45 times as many die of chronic diseases linked to a diet containing animal products, sugar, and salt.

Call Greer Police at 848-2194 if you have information about the vandalism of this property.

An act of vandalism

Staff Reports's picture

On the morning of Nov. 26, we awoke to find that our American and state flags had been cut from our 20-foot lighted pole. After further investigation, we found that the American flag had been cut from the stars to the end of the third white stripe from the top.

Staff Reports's picture
