Bluegrass, traditional music scholarship applications open
The South Carolina Bluegrass and Traditional Music Association is offering scholarships to school age youth who play bluegrass or other traditional music on acoustic string instruments.
November 12 is the deadline for 2021 applications.
Rebel Regiment places third in regional competition
The Byrnes High Rebel Regiment marching band placed third at the Bands of America Southeast Regional last weekend.

Bonds, RMS plan fall fest
Bonds Career Center will hold a free Fall Festival on Thursday, Oct. 14, 5-7:30 p.m. at the center.
The event will feature program exhibits and product sales, hot dog plates, carnival games, bounce house, and snow cones.
The Bonds Automotive program will offer free battery testing, fluid level checks, and a 27-point inspection.
Blue Ridge Middle’s Straub is Cintas award finalist
Blue Ridge Middle Plant Engineer Eddie Straub received an exciting surprise when Cintas Corporation presented him with a $1,000 check.
Straub is one of nine finalists in the 2021 Cintas Corporation Custodian of the Year Program. He was listed among other finalists from Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, to name a few.
