Several area schools have planned special themed activities to celebrate Red Ribbon Week, Oct. 26-30.

Students can enter Reflections contest
South Carolina students are invited to submit entries in the State PTSA 2021 Reflections Contest.
The theme for the completely virtual competition is “I Matter Because…”
School winners will advance and compete at the district and state levels.
Kennebrew to give keynote at North Greenville event
The restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic canceled North Greenville University’s (NGU) in-person commencement ceremony in May. The Class members were given an opportunity to pick-up their regalia and diploma at a Drive-Thru Pick-Up event and given three options to participate in a future commencement ceremony.

Greer Middle College Charter High is holding Open Enrollment for incoming freshmen through Friday, Oct. 30.

Riverside Speech and Debate place in season opener
Riverside Speech and Debate senior Laurel Holley won first place in Original Oratory at the National Speech and Debate Season Opener hosted by the University of Kentucky recently.
Junior William Lovin (4th place) and Senior Eva de la Llave (6th place) were finalists in Prose Interpretation.

Clemson University’s Science Outreach Center will offer a Virtual STEM Club through Dec. 18.

Manufacturing Day set for Sept. 27
The fifth annual Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Day will be held virtually on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m.
Companies will offer rare behind-the-scenes looks at their high-tech facilities as well as opportunities for prizes.
D5 elementary students to begin 5-day attendance
Elementary students in Spartanburg District Five Schools will begin a gradual transition to full face-to-face learning, five days a week, beginning in late September.
Superintendent Dr. Randall Gary made the announcement to staff, parents and families just before the Labor Day holiday.
