Eastside High School raised $118,130 for the Cancer Society of Greenville during its annual Spirit Week activities. The week was cut short when games were moved back to Thursday due to Hurricane Florence.
Blue Ridge High held a car show, hot dog sale and silent auction to benefit the Corps of Cadets marching band on Saturday at the school.
PTA Reflections Contest accepting entries
The National PTA is accepting entries for its 2018-2019 Reflections contest through Thursday, Nov. 1.
This year’s theme is Heroes Around Me.

The Greenville County College Fair for high school juniors and seniors will be held Sept. 17-18 at the TD Convention Center in Greenville.
The fair will be open Monday from 9-11:30 a.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m., and Tuesday from 9-11:30 a.m.

The Tigerville Elementary cafeteria is hiring a part-time employee for the hours 10:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m.

Buena Vista holding open house dates
Buena Vista Elementary will hold Open House on two dates, Monday, Sept. 10, for K-2nd graders, and Tuesday, Sept. 11, for 3rd-5th graders.
Riverside High senior honor student Pratamesh Ramasubramanian recently fulfilled an Eagle Scout requirement by creating a sensory garden at Washington Center. With the help of friends, he donated, installed and planted items for the school’s new nature trail. The sensory garden includes blooming flowers, wind chimes and decorative rocks.
Beginning in Fall 2018, North Greenville University’s Greer campus will add new professional development opportunities, including seminars and professional certificates consisting of 8-week courses.
