Community Fest 2019 @ Greenville Tech will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the college’s Barton Campus. This is a fun day of learning for the whole family with hands-on activities and demonstrations.

Greer High student Sarah Cagle’s mixed media painting of the Inland Port has been purchased by the South Carolina Ports Authority for permanent display.
The Ports Authority became interested in her painting after viewing it at the City of Greer’s Juried Art Exhibition last spring.
Mountain View is teaming up with Make-A-Wish during the month of September in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to help raise money to grant a wish kid’s wish.
Several Mountain View students have had wishes granted from the organization, and another is eligible for a wish.
RHS’s McGee wins dog show award
Riverside High student O’Malley McGee and dog Camellia won Best Junior Handler in cluster at the Tarheel Dog Show recently.
O’Malley was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship for the win.
Kate Stuart, a Furman University junior and Greenville resident, spent two weeks this summer in South Africa studying wildlife at Lory Park Zoo in Johannesburg, and through the experience, came closer to shaping her eventual vocation in the field of conservation.
GMC to hold mandatory
Greer Middle College Charter High will hold a mandatory First Friday Blazer Block on Sept. 6.
First Friday Blazer Block is mandatory for all students, whether they have other classes on campus or not.
