Third and fourth-grade students at Tigerville Elementary participated in Career Day last Friday.

Students learned about polices officers, firefighters, North Greenville football, visiting angels and local journalists.

Different students highlighted the careers they liked and what they learned, particularly in the sports room.

“I enjoyed it. They were talking about a lot of sports and all like the Olympics,” Isabella Aho said.

“The athletes, they showed people how you can become an athlete in different places,” Eli Norris said.

Others noted the officer who brought along a K-9.

“There was a cop with a dog, and someone gave us these pens,” Liam Carr said. “In the library, there’s jerseys and helmets.”

“I’ve enjoyed Career Day because I got to see different jobs of people and what they do,” Finn Dorsey said. “I liked the police one a lot because they had a dog there, and they showed us some cool stuff.”

Students also saw what they could do and started to form their own ideas of a career they’d like to pursue.

“My favorite part of Career Day was going to see the Visiting Angels because we got a pen, and it sounds like a great job for me,” Emma Bartlett said.

Tigerville Elementary School is located at 25 Tigerville Elementary School Rd, Taylors.
