Quilts of Valor, an organization whose members have produced more than 227,000 hand-made patchwork quilts to honor veterans, will present quilts to four Transylvania veterans and four additional veterans from the region on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas in Brevard. The public is invited.

Miss Greater Greer organization officials are seeking contestants for the 2020 Miss Greater Greer and Miss Greater Greer Teen Competition to be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at Woodmont High School.
The Greer Cultural Arts Council will host a “Spotlight on the Arts” Gala on the weekend of Sept. 20-22, marking the grand opening of the newly renovated Greer Center for the Arts at 100 Davis Avenue.
The Gala will feature a showcase of artists and entertainers from a variety of art areas.

The season opens Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. with the musical “Pippin.”
