Riverside Baptist Church, located at 1249 S. Suber Road, Greer, is hosting a Toys for Tots Drive and annual Foothills Philharmonic Orchestra Christmas Concert on Saturday, Dec. 15, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Greer recognized the winners of the Giving Thanks Art Show at the regular Nov. 13 council meeting last Tuesday night.
Based on entries received, categories included elementary, tenth grade, eleventh grade, twelfth grade and photography.
Winners included:
Jack Beaman tastes a cup of chili during the 2018 Greer Station Chili Cookoff on Trade Street last week. Winners were: first Place - Blythe’s Chili with Greer Police Department; second Place - Mama Bear’s Chili; third Place - Blue Ridge Brewing Company; and People’s Choice - Assets through Assemblies.
Greer artists will participate in Greenville Open Studios from Nov. 9-11.
The weekend event opens studios of local visual artists to the public. Select studios will be open Friday, Nov. 9, from 6-9 p.m. while all studies will be open Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 11, from noon to 6 p.m.
Local historian Joada Hiatt took a total of 470 residents on Ghost Walks over the past couple of weeks, traveling from the Depot on Randall Street to the Greer Heritage Museum.
