No singer in my lifetime could cover the vocal gamut like Chris Cornell.

He had the heavy metal howl of Robert Plant, baritone thunder of Eddie Vedder and vocal conviction of Jeff Buckley.  Like Kurt Cobain, he wrote songs that could hoist you into a nihilistic nightmare and others pretty enough to make you cry.
