Chamber joins diaper drive

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is working with other Upstate agencies to bring in one million diapers as part of Operation Dry Baby Bottoms.

The project, organized by Diaper Bank of the Carolinas, will assist needy families in the area by distributing diapers to low income households.

The team of volunteers from Grace UMC usually consists of 14 members of all ages, including some youth.

Grace UMC ramping it up to help

Three years ago, a member at Grace United Methodist Church was in need of a wheelchair ramp, so the congregation pulled together and spent a Saturday building one that was up to code.

Three more wheelchair ramps later, the church seems to have found a way to minister to those in their congregation who are in need of some extra help.

The Hanson and Aho families work on building a tiny home while being filmed for the television show, ‘Tiny House, Big Living.’

Greer tiny home featured on TV show

A local family has constructed a tiny home in a new community on Lake Cunningham.

Melodie Hanson Aho and her mother, Mary Hanson, took the project on earlier this year, and it ended up being featured on Tiny House, Big Living last week.

“I have all these texts from people, saying, I saw the show,” Melodie Aho said.
