On Friday evening at Greer City Park, the fourth annual Bluegrass Festival took place from 6-9 p.m., but it was a proposal during New River Bluegrass band’s performance that stole the show.

Mike Johnson, guitarist, performed “Making Memories of Us” by Keith Urban, and then got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend to marry him.

Julia (Judy) Pitts delivered more than 170 crocheted hats for students at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind recently.

No matter their age, everyone loves to receive a thoughtful gift; however, there’s something extra special when the gift received was made by hand.

Having lived in Upstate South Carolina his whole life, Keith Kelly loves this area and community.

Pastoring was in his blood from as young as 19 years old. At age 21, he was already preaching at a church. Pastoring, on the other hand, came a little slower to Kelly.

“I started this church on September 11, 2005,” he said.
