Shelton Hall, 64, has served prisoners, bikers, and the homeless for decades. This past year’s journey with COVID, however, has limited his workload.

The Twelve Days of Christmas is probably the most misunderstood part of the church year among Christians who are not part of liturgical church traditions.
Christmas blessing
Creative Advancement Center after school program held its annual Christmas celebration last week with a dinner. Students read poems, sang Christmas carols and performed a short Christmas skit before receiving gifts. United Bank Upstate Foundation also presented the organization with a $2,000 donation during the event.

Toads on Trade returns
Toads on Trade is returning to downtown Greer.
The family friendly scavenger hunt was originally crafted in 2009 by Jason Clark, owner of The Strip Club 104.
Many toads, however, were displaced during the CenterG streetscape project and the effort for Toads on Trade never gained traction.
Local veterans honored during DAR ceremony
Wilton Fowler and Bob Scherer were presented the first Freedom Lanterns for Veterans by the Joyce Scott Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution last Tuesday.
Regent Charlotte Koehler presented the lanterns during a ceremony at Victor Memorial Veterans Park.
Greer First Presbyterian plans Joygift Service
First Presbyterian Greer will hold its Joygift Christmas Music Celebration on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m.
The Candlelight Joygift Service has been a tradition at First Presbyterian for over 70 years.
