Neighbors rally to make nonprofit donation
Kensley Putnam rallied family members and neighbors to collect canned goods for The Greer Soup Kitchen and Greer Community Ministries during the month of November.

A little more than 30 years ago, the Greer Police Department started the Cops for Tots Program to help a small number of struggling families in the Greer area provide Christmas presents for their children.

Members of the Greer community honored the legacy of the late Sylvia Holtzclaw through the Syl Syl Christmas Toy Drive, which took place Sunday at the Clock Restaurant. Donations from the event will benefit Cops for Tots and Country Santa.
Greer seamstress works to promote voting
Linette Hodge-Sawyer found her calling as a seamstress early in life.
“Growing up in the Virgin Islands with my sister, wearing hand-me-downs got a little old,” she said with a laugh. “I learned to sew and immediately fell in love. I knew that it would be my purpose, and I’ve been learning the trade every since.”
