Into the mystic: This photo was taken at South Litchfield Beach while The Greer Citizen staff was on the coast for the South Carolina Press Association’s annual meeting earlier this month. What had been a cool, rainy day cleared up in the early evening, leaving just enough clouds and fog to create an eye-catching sunset at around 7 p.m.  

Boss and Stryker are Greer’s newest police officers, beginning training with their K9 handlers this week, as Greer Police Department reinitiates a program that has not existed in the city for several years. Shown left to right are: James Compton, Stryker, Jordan Williams and Boss.

The Greer Police Department welcomed its newest members this week.

Brought over from the Czech Republic, Boss and Stryker, two German Shepherds that will lead Greer’s K9 program, began training with local officers on Sunday and will soon be put into action.

The cast of Disney’s ‘Mulan Jr.’ was made up of Spartanburg District Five fifth and sixth graders from Beech Springs Intermediate School.

A group of fifth and sixth grade students from Beech Springs Intermediate brought Disney’s “Mulan Jr.” to life on the big stage last week, conducting morning and evening performances at the Spartanburg District Five Fine Arts Center in Duncan.
