| Twice as nice: Trey Bridwell captured his second Greenville County Amateur Golf Championship on Sunday. |
| Bridwell turns back Taylor to win County title

The Greenville County Amateur championship turned into a shootout between two former Blue Ridge High School teammates.
Trey Bridwell, a 2007 graduate, and Cory Taylor, a senior, battled each other for the championship.
Bridwell carded a 4-under-par 212 to hold off a determined rally by Taylor to claim a one shot victory at Green Valley Country Club.
"Coming down the stretch, I was nervous," said Bridwell. "I started to shake with three holes to go and I said this is not good."
The 2008 champion birdied two of his last four holes.
The last time Bridwell won the county title, he had a comfortable lead going into the final round. This year, however, four golfers were within a few strokes of the lead and almost a dozen were close enough to think about winning the tournament.
However, it was Taylor who played on the same high school team with Bridwell three years ago who birdied his first and ninth holes on the front side and added birdies on 12 and 14 pull into a tie.
"I was hitting on all cylinders," said Taylor. "I was hitting the ball well and my putting was good."
Bridwell was not able to increase his lead in the final round as he did the last time he won the title. When the former champion reached the 14th hole, he found out he was tied with Taylor for the lead.
