Staff Reporter

Ethel Burrell told her four children that she didn't think she would be around much longer after taking early retirement from her job at Apalache Mill. She didn't feel well and she was deeply saddened by her inability to go back to work.

That was in 1971.

"I couldn't accept it," Ethel, 91, said. "They kept my job for a year but I couldn't take it."
