A body was discovered on Thursday in a pond near Greer.

According to Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans, a resident of property along Fisher Road saw the body floating in the water. Evans identified the man as 36-year-old Adam Worley.

The Greenville County coroner’s office and sheriff’s office were called around 3:30 p.m. to the pond, located behind 730 Fisher Road. Authorities were able to recover the body and determined he had been in the water for about a month. They estimate he died on Feb. 9 between 1 and 7 p.m.

The sheriff’s office had been investigating Worley’s disappearance and a search party had been organized on Tuesday, Feb. 16, for him. Mann said the last time she saw him was around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

On Friday, Mann said she was feeling heartbroken knowing how many times she had walked around the pond hoping to find him.

While the coroner’s office has identified the body, results are still pending as to the cause and manner of Worley’s death. Toxicology and further reports are forthcoming.
