Public safety radio systems to be upgraded soon

Local police radios are not covering the expanding city limits, presenting a problem for first responders.
Lt. Matt Hamby, who will assume police chief duties at the end of the month, said the current radio system is reaching the end of its life and a solution will need to be found soon.
