Andrew Merriman will replace Ed Driggers as Greer City Administrator, following a Greer City Council decision last week.

Merriman, the former Deputy County Administrator in York County, was among 59 applicants and three finalists for the post. He will begin work on Aug. 3, following Driggers’ retirement.

Chamber cancels Family Fest

For the first time in its 36-year history, the Greer Family Fest has been canceled.

The event, which had been postponed due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, will resume next year, according to Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce officials.
