The Greer Golf and Country Club will soon be owned by the City of Greer.
Greer Council voted 5-1 to acquire the club last Tuesday.
Councilmember Jay Arrowood was opposed and Wayne Griffin was not present at the meeting.

CPW to host rain barrel workshop
The Greer Commission of Public Works (CPW) is hosting a rain barrel workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 5-6 p.m.
The cost is $25 per rain barrel, and participants will leave with a 55 gallon rain barrel and conversion kit.
Countybank officials presented a check for $2,500 to Daily Bread Ministries during the recent Merle State Hunger event.
The donation was given on behalf of the Countybank Foundation, which was established in 1971 and represents Countybank and Greenwood Capital.
