Greer Police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place at the Speedwash Laundromat in Greer on Halloween night.
According to officials, 39-year-old Adam Vasquez was found lying in the parking lot of the N. Line Street location with a gunshot wound at around 6:25 p.m. last Thursday evening.

A grand re-opening of the Greer Library is set for Sunday, Nov. 10. Members of the public are invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. at 505 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Greer City Council approved 5-1 the Second and Final Reading of Ordinance Number 20-2019 to annex the 14.04 acres at 3006 Brushy Creek Road with an R-15 zoning. The decision allows a subdivision, bringing 42 new units, to proceed.
Greer Community Ministries (GCM) will host one of its largest fundraisers of the year this Thursday at Fairview Baptist Church.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. for the event, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2019. GCM is asking attendees to bring one nonperishable food item as an entry fee.

A new city limit sign will be installed at the corner of Gap Creek Road and Highway 29, and new Greer Station signs will be placed at two corners of Highway 29 and Main Street as well as at the corner of Cannon Avenue and Main Street.
The City of Greer recognized 15 employees during last week’s regular council meeting. Seven employees have reached five years with the city, one employee reached 10 years, five employees reached 15 years and two employees reached 25 years.
