Red Ribbon 5K set for Oct. 19

To kick off Red Ribbon Week, Just Say Something (JSS) will host its third annual Red Ribbon 5k on Saturday, October 19 from 9-11 a.m. at the Hartness Preserve in Greenville.

October is National Substance Abuse Prevention Month and culminates with the activities of Red Ribbon Week from Oct. 23-31.

WWII veteran Carl Henson celebrated his 100th birthday with his family last Friday at Shepherd’s Care.

A WWII veteran, Carl Henson, celebrated a centry of life recently. His party was held at Shepherd’s Care on Friday, Oct. 4.

As a child, Henson and his siblings battled with typhoid fever. He is the first one from his family to live to 100.

New business opens on Trade

A new business opened its doors on Trade Street in downtown Greer today.

Owned by Lisa Burton and Wanda Garcia, Plunder is now serving customers at 214 Trade, the location of the former Carolina Treasures.

“We are truly happy to be a part of the brand new Greer Station renovated hardscape,” said Garcia.
