Greer Community Ministries is recruiting community support for its biggest fundraiser of the year.

The nonprofit’s 39th annual Big Thursday event, presented by D&D Motors, is set for Nov. 1 at Fairview Baptist Church, running from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Greer Police Department held its 14th annual golf tournament fundraiser Tuesday to benefit Cops for Tots.

Members of the Greer community helped the police department raise money for its Cops for Tots program on Tuesday, with a round of golf at Greer Country Club.

The 14th annual tournament has become the primary fundraiser for the Christmas program, which benefits under privileged children in the community.

The Commissioners have signed an agreement to purchase a new 10-acre site for $879,000 at the intersection of West Main Street and Brook Glenn Road.
