Lyman to demolish old pizzeria

The Town of Lyman is planning to demolish a couple of buildings downtown.

On Monday, council unanimously approved a resolution for TKO Demolition, LLC, to perform the demolition of the former pizza parlor located at the Groce Road and Old Spartanburg Highway in the amount of $11,952 to be distributed from the General Fund.

NGU offers workshop to veterans

A workshop to help veterans develop better interview skills is planned for later this month at North Greenville’s Tim Brashier Campus in Greer.

The event, which is being hosted by North Greenville University’s Leadership and Professional Development Department, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Greer is mourning the loss of Nancy Welch, who passed away last week following a long battle with cancer.

Welch, who spent more than two decades as the host of the “Nancy Welch Show” on WSPA-TV, made a name for herself through her popular cooking segments and her support of local charitable causes.

County seeking Taylors input

Taylors TownSquare is seeking community input on its proposed Main Street Development District, which would encompass more than 220 area parcels.

The Taylors Community Plan, adopted by Greenville County Council in 2016, prioritized the establishment of the district, according to Taylors TownSquare president Alex Reynolds.
