MTCC presents inaugural award

A Byrnes High School science teacher is the first recipient of the Middle Tyger Community Center’s (MTCC) Wanda L. Fowler Community Champion Award for community service.

The award was given to Rhonda Dodson at MTCC’s  20th anniversary celebration and banquet last Tuesday night.

GSP sees uptick

For a fourth consecutive month, Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport saw an increase in passenger traffic.

January traffic statistics show nearly a 7 percent increase compared to the same time period in 2017.

GSP welcomed 154,489 passengers in January 2018 compared to 144,635 in January 2017.

Student-led walkout

Byrnes High School students participated in a walkout to protest gun violence in schools last Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. The event lasted 17 minutes in honor of the 17 lives lost at a Parkland, Florida high school in February.
