God’s Pantry needs spaghetti, cereal, beans, rice, mixes, boxed items, oatmeal, grits, Ramen noodles, macaroni and cheese, canned meats, vegetables, fruits and tomato products, peanut butter, dessert mixes, snacks, condiments, coffee and drink mixes.
On Nov. 13 a ribbon cutting for Generations 2 Generations, a veterans’ transitional facility presented to Lyman Council last June, was held. Founders Zachary and Dorothy Jenkins-Smith plan to build two buildings for male and female veterans and their families to be located at 12404 Greenville Highway in Lyman.
Great Bay Oyster House and guest shuckers are teaming up to benefit a local nonprofit.
The third Give a Shuck run is 7 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Great Bay Oyster House, 109 E. Poinsett St in Greer.
Greer City Council approved a bid for $30,900 for a roofing project for the Operations Center during the Nov. 12 council meeting. The accepted bid was the lowest bid and was received from Trueline Inc. based in Charlotte, N.C.

of food, blankets
Greer Community Ministries is in need of blankets for Meals on Wheels clients. Blankets will be delivered with meals as part of the ministry’s 12 Days of Christmas program in December.
The Food Pantry needs beef stew, and Sharon’s Closet needs winter coats.
Incumbent Gene Gibson will continue serving on the Greer Commission of Public Works after being reelected in the Nov. 5 election. Gibson has been serving for 32 years.
