Ejan Fusetti is a pitcher and first baseman for the Eastside Eagles baseball team. Fusetti has a 3.00 ERA and four wins in 2024 so far along with 42 strikeouts in 30.1 innings pitched. He has a batting average of .300 and three home runs on the year. Fusetti spoke about his favorite memories as an Eagle and mulling his plans for the future.
Blue Ridge baseball’s mantra is “stay hungry,” and if the team’s performance in region play this season is any indication, the Tigers have taken it to heart.
With 16-1 and 17-0 wins over Carolina last week, the Tigers wrapped up their second straight 3-A Region 3 title—outscoring region opponents 76-7 along the way.

At SCHSL’s April 15 meeting, Byrnes head coach Layne Fowler had the chance to promote the addition of a shot clock to South Carolina high school basketball.
Fowler’s proposal was approved by both the activities and executive committee. It will go into place beginning this coming season.
