Anita McClimon Colbert, 91, died January 26, 2019.
A native of Greer, Mrs. Colbert was the daughter of the late Glenn McClimon, Sr. and Essie McElrath McClimon. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and a former educator at Winthrop University, Coker College, and public schools of Greenville County, SC, and Charlottesville, Virginia. She was a graduate of Winthrop University and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Surviving are her son, James E. Colbert, Jr., (Alice), of Greenwood, SC; her daughter, Anita Ann Colbert of Columbia; and a brother, Glenn McClimon, Jr. of Greer.
Mrs. Colbert was predeceased by her husband, Dr. James E. Colbert, Sr., and two brothers, Benjamin R. McClimon of Greer and Hugh P. McClimon of Anderson.
She requested that no services be held upon her death.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Colbert requested any memorials be sent to one of the following: The James E. Colbert Scholarship, Fund #0994 of the Winthrop University Foundation, Winthrop University, 302 Tillman Hall, Rock Hill, SC 29733; or Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 N. Main St., Greer, SC 29650; or the charity of one's choice.
