Clinta Price Moore, 72, wife of Thomas Randall (Randy) Moore and resident of Seneca died May 11, 2016 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca following a courageous battle with cancer.

The oldest child of Lila Campbell Price of Greer and the late Alfred Clinton Price, Clinta was born June 6, 1943 in Gowensville.

Clinta was a 1961 graduate of Greer High School and a 1965 graduate of Lander University. Clinta’s life long purpose was to educate. Aside from being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many, Clinta was born to teach. She carried out that purpose beginning with her first job as a teacher at Ellen Woodside High School. She then taught at Monaview Middle and Trinity Lutheran’s private school in Greenville. Her teaching skills also focused on Sunday School youth and Women’s groups at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville and Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson. A signature of Clinta’s lessons was the use of songs to emphasize the teachings of scripture. She adhered to Martin Luther’s stance that music, after Biblical truth, was the greatest conveyor of the transcendent majesty of God. She believed we are educated through hymns.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Cary Moore and his wife Nichole of Simpsonville, two grandsons, Jonah Moore and Ayden Moore, and one granddaughter, Beckett Moore. Clinta is also survived by two sisters, Patsy Hunt (Jim) of Greer and Delaine Blackwell (Michael) of Irmo, and three brothers, Sam Price (Linda) of Powdersville, Joe Price (Drenda) of Greer, and Tim Price (Dee) of Greer.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday conducted by Reverend Joe Price and Reverend James T. Richardson at the Wood Mortuary in Greer. Interment will be in Wood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 11:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wood Mortuary.

Jonah Moore, Scott Moore, Martin Price, Marc Hunt, Scott Price, John D. Hendley and Art Williams will serve as pallbearers. Honorary escort will be Donna Crader, Elaine Prock, Carol Stoudt and Cathy McInnes.
