David Allen King, Jr., 99, widower of Sara Medlin King, died January 11, 2019 at The Woodlands at Furman.

 

A native of southern Greenville County, Mr. King was the last surviving child of the late David Allen King, Sr. and Eula Lindley King. A World War II Air Force veteran, he retired as a Planning Manager for J.P. Stevens Automotive Division. He was a Shriner and a member of Taylors Masonic Lodge. In 1956, he and Mrs. King joined Taylors First Baptist where he was the oldest member.

 

Survivors include children and their spouses, Marshanna Brown (Steve) of Columbia, David King (Sheri) of Macon, Georgia, and Wayne King of Greenville; grandsons and spouses, Michael Brown (Trez), Graham Brown (Tam), and Keith King (Ada); great-grandchildren, Elise, Clara, and Hugh Brown, and Abigail King.

 

He was predeceased by siblings, Cecile Bryant, Inez Rice, Bill and Joe King.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 11 a.m.-noon in the Welcome Center of Taylors First Baptist Church with the service following at noon in the sanctuary. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
