Helen R. Bagwell

Helen Claire Robinson Bagwell, 80, passed away on January 15, 2019 at Manning Place in Greer.

A native of Gainesville, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Dr. James Roy and Nelle Sapoch Robinson. Mrs. Bagwell was a loving third grade teacher at Tryon Elementary for over 30 years and was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church where her favorite group was the Singles Group. It was her passion to keep friends in touch with one another and her former students, former fellow teachers and staff at Tryon Street School, Greer High School Class of 1956 and the ADK Sisters.

Surviving are her son, Jim “Stan” Bagwell (Arrie) of Greer; one sister, Mary Ann Robinson of Columbus, North Carolina; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bagwell was predeceased by one grandson.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Dottie Bryson. Private burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at the mortuary.

The family is at the home of the son, Stan Bagwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Dr. J. Roy and Nellie Robinson Scholarship Fund, PO Box 1892, Tigerville, SC 29688. Scholarships to be given to deserving students entering full time Christian service.
