Henry E. Dorr, Sr.

Henry Elton Dorr, Sr., 89, of Greer, passed away on July 16, 2019 at his home.

A native of Pickens County, son of the late Charlie Ansel and Susie Elizabeth Smith Dorr, he was a retired employee of Express Unlimited Truck Company, a US Marine Veteran, and a member of Highland Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Hughey Dorr of the home; three sons, Jimmy Dorr of Sumter, Henry Dorr, Jr. (Lynn) of Fountain Inn and Billy Dorr (June) of Liberty, SC; two daughters, June Dorr Bridges (Tom) of Greenwood and Kim Kay (Bobby) of Fountain Inn; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Dorr was predeceased by two sons, Charlie Daniel Dorr and Robert Dorr; two brothers, James Shipman and Ansel Shipman; two sisters, Lottie Eskew and Lois Bright; one grandson, Timmy Dorr; and one great-grandson, Tyler Butler.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Mountain View Cemetery conducted by Chaplain David Garner.

A memorial service will be held, Sunday July 21, at 4 p.m., at Highland Baptist Church, 3270 Highway 414, Taylors, SC.

Visitation will be held 1-1:45 p.m. Sunday at The Wood Mortuary.

The families are at their respective homes.
