Jo Ann H. Newman

Jo Ann Hodge Newman, 84, widow of James B. Newman, passed away December 1, 2018.

A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Leonard E. and Pearlene Riggins Hodge, she was a homemaker and a member of Apalache Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Kay (Wayne) of Greer and Diane McDonald (Lewis “Buck”) of Wellford; two sons, Daniel “Danny” Newman (Monica) of Inman and James B. “Bo” Newman, Jr. of Pickens; a sister, Louise Houston of Greer; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Butch Howard.  Burial will follow Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Beth Kay.
