John Anthony Kimbrell, 59, passed away October 22, 2017.

A native of Greer, son of Betty Johnson O’Brien (John) of Greer and the late John Claude Kimbrell, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard, was the owner of Kimbrell Hauling & Grading Co., and of the Christian faith. John enjoyed woodworking, working on old cars, and working on his grandfather’s antique truck and tractor.

Also surviving are a sister, Carmen Maria Campbell of Greer; aunt, Ann Johnson Holloway (Jerry); great-aunt, Eloise Johnson Donahoo; a niece, Danielle Campbell Thomas (Dr. S. Craig Thomas); and a great-niece and great-nephew, Campbell Grace Thomas and Levi Christian Thomas.

Mr. Kimbrell was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John Clarence Kimbrell and Jessie Sumner Kimbrell, maternal grandparents, William Paul Johnson and Florence Lynch Johnson, and a niece, Ashley Monique Campbell.

Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, conducted by Rev. Paul Manous.

The family is at their respective homes.
