Lynda Robinson Haynes, 77, a native of Canton, North Carolina, and resident of Taylors, South Carolina, passed peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 16, 2018. 

She was born in Canton, North Carolina, on August 14, 1940 to her late parents, Eugene Robinson and Pauline Pace Robinson, of Canton, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joel Burrell, of Waynesville, North Carolina, and her second husband, Harold Richards, of Gaffney, South Carolina; her niece, Sherri McClure; and nephew, Todd McCracken. Later she married her high school sweetheart, Joe Haynes, of Clyde, North Carolina, until their divorce.

She is survived by three daughters from her first marriage: Angela Patterson (Joey), Monica Burrell and Julia Hengstmann (Hjalmar).  Lynda was blessed with seven grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Blaine, Kendall and Cole Patterson, Meghin and Chloe Gilstrap, Anna and Emily Hengstmann; one great-granddaughter, Kinleigh Watts; three sisters, Phyllis McCracken, Eunice Ward (Hallett) and Mary Lee Hollifield; nephews, Keith McCracken, Eric McCracken, Anthony Hollifield and Chad Hollifield; and niece, Lisa Tate.

Lynda’s work included Dayco in Waynesville, North Carolina, Milliken and State Auto in Greer, South Carolina. She enjoyed spending time working in the yard and planting flowers. Lynda enjoyed going to Lake Chatuge in the summer where she and her sisters laid in the sun for hours. Lynda enjoyed camping and fishing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed long novels. Lynda was friendly yet somewhat reserved. She was kind, genuine, loving, soft-spoken and quiet but would speak-up for what she believed in. She had the biggest laugh and most beautiful smile. Lynda epitomized strength and was the rock for her family. She had a fierce love for her daughters, grandchildren and great-granddaughter and was so proud of them. 

The Celebration of Life service will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home.  The family will be receiving friends following the service from 3-4 p.m.
