Manley Gibson Bright, 91, widower of Martha Ann Elmore Bright, passed away Aug. 12, 2017.

A native of Greenville County,  a son of the late Nathan Earl Bright and Mary Emily Gibson Bright, he was a retired furniture salesman of Bond’s Furniture, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and lifelong member of Greer First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, tenor soloist  in the sanctuary choir and in the mens quartet.

Surviving are three daughters, Anne Marie Parrott (Mike) of Pickens, Tonda Rogers (Freddy) of Taylors and Sheila Ahern (Patrick) of Simpsonville; one sister, Mary Earle Bright of Greer; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by one brother, Richard Nathan Bright.

Graveside services were held 11 a.m.  Monday, August 14, 2017 at Mountain View Cemetery, conducted by Mrs. Dottie Bryson.

Visitation was held Monday after the service at the cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the music ministry of Greer First Baptist Church, 201 West Poinsett Street, Greer, SC  29650.
