Ned Thornton

Ned Hugh Thornton, 78, of Greer, passed away on Monday, June 08, 2020. Born in Sanford, NC, he was the son of the late Luby and Anna Belle Westbrook Thornton and the husband of the late Betty Brannon Thornton. He was owner and operator of Thornton’s Dry Wall, loved Piddlers Auction and hanging out at the Hot Spot.

Survivors also include five children, Tammy Stevenson, Phillip (Robin) Stevenson, Kim Thornton, Barry (Rhonda) Thornton and Stoney Pratt; a brother, Cecil Thornton; five grandchildren, Brandi Richter, Patrick and Sarah Stevenson, Colby and Sage Thornton; and two great-grandchildren, Jada Watson and Cali Nichols. He was predeceased by a son, Tony Stevenson; four brothers, Bobby, Roger, Glenn and Norwood Thornton; and a sister, Myrna Weeks.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Piddlers Auction, 122 N Moore Street, Duncan 29334. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Wood Memorial Park with Rev. Thomas Brown officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes.
