William Jeffrey Greene Jr: son of the Father, son, brother, uncle, friend and gifted architect.
William Jeffrey Greene Jr. died May 14, 2017 at New York Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 16, 1963 in Charleston, SC to William Jeffrey Greene Sr. and Donna Foxworth Greene.
Jeffrey was a graduate of Blue Ridge High School, Clemson University with a degree in Architectural Design and the University of Virginia with a Master's Degree in Architecture. He worked for several architectural firms in New York, including Richard Meier & Partners and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. While working at SOM, he was the site architect for the Time Warner Center and 7 World Trade Center.
He took his love of Classic Country and Bluegrass music to New York and converted many of his friends and coworkers into country music fans.
Left to mourn his death but to cherish sweet memories are his parents, Jeff and Donna Greene; brother and sister-in-law, Marcus and Lisa Greene; nephew, Alex Greene; niece, Elizabeth Greene; his former wife and best friend, Brigitte Prat and stepdaughter, Lulu Prat. He is also survived by uncles, Scott Greene and his wife Carla and Roland Styles; three aunts, Linda Foxworth, Sandra F. Baumberger and her husband Julius, Sharon F. Armitage and her husband, Frank. Many cousins and many, many friends are also left to grieve his passing but to remember the good times.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rufus and Ruth Brooks Foxworth and Bill and Sammie Lee Phillips Greene and an aunt, Wanda Foxworth Styles.
A Memorial Service was held June 29, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Charles E. Daniel Memorial Chapel, Furman University. The service was officiated by the Rev. Susan Crowell. The family received friends following the service in the Garden Room of the Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at Coleman Memorial Cemetery, Travelers Rest.
