A 42-year-old man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the 2011 killing of his mother after a jury found him guilty last week.

A Maudlin man has been arrested after fleeing a traffic stop and leading the Greer police on a chase that involved gunshots.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a Greenville man facing multiple charges relating to his role in two crimes in July of 2009. Jeffrey Jones Harrison is wanted on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, burglary and grand larceny.
It was the Greer Police Department’s response to a shoplifting call last Monday that led to the arrest of a Campobello man wanted by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office for his role in a Jan. 11 Lyman home invasion.

A police officer with the City of Lyman has been arrested and charged with altering and destroying evidence.
The State Law Enforcement Division arrested Michael Gerald Hames, 44, of Lyman, and charged him with misconduct in office and obstructing justice.

The Glassy Mountain Fire Service Board of Commissioners announced four newly elected board members recently. The new members include Jewell Bayne, Richard Baker and William Brodie.
The four join David Vaughn and Dwight Hammack of Landrum and Dick Dusa of Travelers Rest.
