Citizens invited to become honorary members of the South Carolina Sheriff’s Office

Due to the increasing number of people wanting to assist law enforcement officials and build a stronger partnership in the fight against crime, Greenville County Sheriff, Steve Loftis announced last week that Greenville County citizens are being invited to become Honorary Members of the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association.

GFD celebrates 100 years

This year the Greer Fire Department celebrates 100 years of serving the Greer community.

On Nov. 1, 1914, the Greer Fire Company, Greer’s first fire station, was established on Randall Street, with Mack Fowler being named the first fire chief.
