Fire crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire at 111 Spruce Avenue early last Tuesday morning.

An Inman man will spend the next 20 years behind bars after stabbing his mother-in-law to death.

Philip E. Carter, Jr., 69, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

According to officials, Carter stabbed Agatha Mae Smith, 66, to death July 27, 2018 at the Valley High Drive home they shared.
