Jones receives sentence

A Greer man has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison for his involvement in the shooting death of Antonio “Tony” Gregory Panuamba, who was killed during an altercation on Larkin Park Drive on May 5, 2017.

Man will spend 20 years in prison

A Spartanburg man received a 20-year prison sentence today after he admitted to robbing 10 local businesses at gunpoint over 6 weeks in 2017.

Dedrick Louis Belle, 47, pleaded guilty to 15 counts of armed robbery and 10 counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The Citizens Building and Loan Charitable Foundation recently donated $2,500 to Greer PD’s Cops for Tots.

CBL donates $2,500 to Cops for Tots

The Citizens Building and Loan Charitable Foundation recently donated $2,500 to Cops for Tots.

The program, which began in 1991, provides Christmas gifts for 300 to 400 local children annually. With help from the community, Cops for Tots accepts monetary donations as well as new, unwrapped gifts for children ages 12 and under.

Lost pocketbook returned intact

A returned pocketbook with everything still inside gave hope to a local resident.

Nancy Brock of Wellford went shopping at Greer Quality Foods on Saturday, June 23, leaving her pocketbook in the grocery cart outside in the parking lot.

“I had over $200 in my wallet,” Brock said.
