Jax Barney makes a citizen’s arrest on Greer PD’s Sgt. Roman Wilson during the “Cones with Cops” event last Saturday at Bruster’s in Greer.

The City of Greer recently recognized the Fire Department’s Explorer Post 103 after its first place finish in the Team Rapid Dress event at the 2019 Winterfest Competition in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

“We’re very proud of the work you did over in Gatlinburg,” said City Administrator Ed Driggers.

Lynwood C. Simonds, 78, of Greer died last week after a collision at the intersection of Brushy Creek Road and Henderson Gap Road in Greer.

The Greer Police Department responded to a traffic collision at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, according to a police report.
