Local authorities are investigating a double homicide following a Greer apartment fire last week.

The bodies of a male victim and a female victim were found in the blaze; although, the Greenville County Coroner said both died of gunshot wounds.

A Duncan man will spend 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting three girls, Solicitor Barry Barnette announced Monday.

Christopher Michael Rickards, 43, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Two more Spartanburg District Five schools were threatened over the weekend.

District officials say students at D.R. Hill Middle School and Florence Chapel Middle School are facing disciplinary hearings following incidents on Friday and Sunday.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has lifted some mandatory evacuations in southern coastal counties following recent projections for Hurricane Florence.

Evacuation orders remain in effect for Horry, Georgetown, Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties, along with Edisto Beach.
