Legion gets back on the diamond

The Greer American Legion Post 115 senior team is looking for its first win of the season this week with games against Inman, Buffalo and Spartanburg on the schedule.

Due to weather, Greer did not play last week and head coach Matt Landreth is ready for his group to get back on the diamond.

The Greer football team held spring practice sessions recently with sights set on a return to trip to the Upper State Chamiopnship in 2018.

Greer riding momentum

Following a region championship and a trip to the Upper State final in 2017, the Yellow Jackets are hoping to build on the momentum they found late last season.

“Our kids are excited about the season,” head coach Will Young said. “We feel like we’ve got some good momentum heading into the summer.”

Eagles building under coach Morgan

Eastside football coach Dan Morgan accomplished a lot in his first season with the Eagles.

With an overall record of 11-2, a home playoff win and a second place finish in the region, the Eagles made strides in 2017 and reached heights that haven’t been reached in the past decade.

But the rebuilding isn’t over.
