A crunch-time score on a trick play gave Dorman a 35-33 win over Byrnes and a lead in the region title race Friday night at Nixon Field.

With time winding down in the fourth quarter, the Rebel defense bit on a play fake and the Cavaliers used a halfback pass to earn a nine point advantage.

Greer scooped up a bag full of treats Friday night on an early Halloween trip to Berea. The Yellow Jackets grabbed three turnovers and blocked three kicks on the way to seven first half touchdowns in a 59-0 rout of the host Bulldogs.

Greer Citizen Editor Billy Cannada was one of more than 70 participants to go “over the edge” at the AC Hotel in Spartanburg last Friday. The event, hosted by The Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, raises money for local cancer patients.

Byrnes running back Rahjai Harris is one of seven finalists for the Mr. Football award in South Carolina. The senior has more than 800 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the season.

Byrnes’ Rahjai Harris is one of seven finalists for this year’s South Carolina Mr. Football award.

Joining Harris as finalists are: Laurens running back Duane Martin, Daniel’s Tyler Venables, Chapman’s Mikele Colasurdo, Dutch Fork’s Jalin Hyatt, Saluda’s Noah Bell and Myrtle Beach’s Luke Doty.
