Byrnes Fishing Team wins tournament
The Byrnes High Fishing Team received an overall school win at the PBC High School Tournament Trail event on Lake Murray recently.
The team was recognized at the District 5 board meeting.
The North Greenville men’s basketball team fell to the Anderson Trojans 100-73 on the road recently.
Anderson shot 71.9 percent from the field in the second half to score 61 points, while the Crusaders shot 43.6 percent.

Greer’s road to the Class AAAA state championship gets steeper this Friday night when the Yellow Jackets will host Ridge View at 7:30 p.m. at Dooley Field.

After a steady diet of Friday night creampuffs, Greer nearly choked on the grizzly York Cougars before pulling away to a 63-40 triumph at Dooley Field in the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs.
The Rebels took a few punches last Friday at Sumter, but a late-game rally sparked by Jalen Miller’s pick-six gave Byrnes a 33-23 victory in round two of the Class AAAAA Upper State playoffs.
Reggie Shaw’s team fell into a hole early, trailing 23-7 at halftime.

On Sunday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway, it was “The Big Three and Me” — with the “Me” being Joey Logano waging vehicular war against the three most prolific winners in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
Now “Me” is a champion.
Three North Greenville football players earned Gulf South All-Conference nods this week.
Defensively the Crusaders are represented by Seth Laughter and Aaron Watson, who were both first team All-Conference nominees while Dimajiay Rooks earned the program’s first offensive nod with a second team All-Conference appearance.
