It was Tony Stewart’s return to racing that dominated the headlines before last Sunday night’s Oral-B USA 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, but it was Kasey Kahne who stole the show—and a berth in the chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
It’s football time on the campus of North Greenville University. Head coach Jeff Farrington enters his second season at the helm of the program expecting success with several returning starters.

Dooley Field will be steeped in tradition Friday night at 7:30 p.m. when Greer High kicks off its 94th football season against one of the Yellow Jackets’ oldest rivals, Clinton.
Offseason preparations are over and the Tigers are getting ready for the real deal.
The Blue Ridge football team will kickoff a new campaign Friday at Wade Hampton, and head coach Shane Clark said he thinks his team will be in for a challenge.
Just two minutes into the 2014 season, Byrnes’ Noah Dawkins assured a group of traveling Rebel fans they would not leave Rock Hill disappointed.
After a stalled opening drive for his team, Dawkins made a tackle in the end zone, forcing a Northwestern safety that set the tempo for a strong first half performance.
The Riverside football team is hoping to exact some revenge Friday night during its matchup with cross-town rival Eastside.
The two schools will face off at Eastside at 7:30 p.m., and Riverside coach Phil Smith said his group is ready.
They overcame a 12-0 halftime deficit to defeat Riverside last year, but the Eagles will be looking to get off to a much stronger start on Friday.
The Eastside football team enters the new year better prepared for the challenge, head coach Jeff Thomason said.
The Rebels are 1-0 in the early going after a key win over Northwestern in Week 0.
Now, the Byrnes football team must turn its attention to T.L. Hanna and the task it faces Friday night during the home opener.
