Rising North Greenville senior Hunter Crandall is spending his summer in Netanya, Israel where he will compete in the World Lacrosse Championships hosted by the Federation of International Lacrosse.
A record 76 golfers hit the links on June 29 for Good Shepherd Church’s third annual “Go for the Green” fundraiser.
The event, held at Greer Country Club, raised more than $7,000 for the church’s restoration fund.

SC lake makes Bassmaster ranking
Santee Cooper lakes (Marion and Moultrie) have been ranked sixth in the nation among the 2018 List of Bassmaster Magazine’s 100 Best Bass Lakes. The lakes placed number two in the Southeastern rankings.
The Rebels are back on top after a win at the Palmetto State Showdown 7-on-7 last Saturday in Duncan.
Byrnes topped Bergen Catholic in the championship, 20-14, upsetting the tournament favorites on the final day.
June was about repetition for the Yellow Jackets.
With a veteran quarterback and receiving corps returning this fall, head coach Will Young has used recent 7-on-7 competitions to gain experience and develop chemistry heading into August practice sessions.
Registration is still open for the Yellow Jacket Basketball Camp, hosted by Greer High basketball coaches Greg Miller and Mazzie Drummond.
The camp, set for July 16-19, will be held from 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. daily. It was designed to spark interest in the program from young players, according to Miller.
Greer’s 8U Dixie Softball team recently topped Boiling Springs to claim the district championship. The team will now compete at the state tournament on July 6.
