The Greenville Drive will continue its series against the Columbia Fireflies Wednesday and Thursday night, and a Heisman Trophy winner will be headlining the visitor’s lineup.

Former Riverside golfer and University of Alabama standout Jonathan Hardee recorded a top 20 finish at the NCAA Men’s Golf National Championships last month.

With a four day total of 288, Hardee notched rounds of 69, 75, 67 and 77 to claim even par for the tournament.

Century Park played host to the Greer Upper State baseball championships last weekend, and several Greer Baseball Classic teams finished atop the pack.

The Blue Ridge football team is looking to do better than the two win season it had in 2016.

With some new schemes, new faces and new coaching in place, summer workouts will a long way toward making that happen for the Tigers.

Greer High basketball coaches Greg Miller and Mazzie Drummond are teaming up host the third annual Yellow Jacket Basketball Camp from July 17-20.

The camp, which will be held from 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. daily, was designed to spark interest in the program from young players.

Following a winless season in 2015, the Riverside football team “got a taste of winning last year, which our guys were excited about,” said head coach Phil Smith. “When you start with excitement, you’re already a step ahead.”

Greer Baseball Classic teams recently wrapped up 2017, and four champions were crowned.

Finishing first in the single A league were the GBC Pirates, who edged out the GBC Brewers in the championship. In double A, the GBC Tigers won gold and the GBC Angels took silver.
