Bora wins by unanimous decision
Brandon Bora, pictured in black, represented the Boxing gym at The Depot over the weekend, winning the first sanctioned heavyweight amateur boxing match. He defeated Kenny Grace in Charleston, winning by unanimous decision.
Riverside improves to 7-1 in region
The Riverside baseball team picked up three wins last week, topping Greenwood and Greer in extra innings to improve to 7-1 in region play.
The Warriors got off to a hot start on Tuesday, pulling away from Greewood 10-4 in 10 innings.
Riverside scored six runs in the top of the tenth, building an insurmountable lead.
Tigers sweep Union, crack Top 5 rankings
The Blue Ridge baseball team swept Union County last week, improving its region win streak to 15 games and cracking the top 5 in the Class AAAA state rankings.
The Tigers opened the week with an easy 7-1 win over the Yellow Jackets.
Jeremy Collins pitched a complete game and gave up one run on four hits for the Tigers.
Greer's Peeler to coach at Colleton County

When Coby Peeler was 9-years-old, he dreamed of being a head football coach.
Thirty-five years later, that dream has been realized.
Peeler was named the new head football coach at Colleton County High School last Friday, signing a contract with the Walterboro school.
